Demo Reel 2012

This Demo reel contains a variety of my work till 2012 which are mostly done using programs like 3Ds max, Nukex, Boujou and realflow besides some plugins like Fumefx and krakatoa. I used mental ray and iray for rendering. It contains R&D clips: the one in which I flood my company, the others were commercial designs.
Hope you enjoy watching it.
Regards.

VFX

C4 desert explosion:
Simulation was done using Fumefx and 3ds max in addition to particles and debris that was done by the help of physx. Second and most critical stage was relighting, re timing, coloring, composing and matching the explosion with the background plate and not to forget adding Camera shake and sound wave. Took about five days including studying explosion anatomy through youtube videos.

Flooding my Company:
A small case study for tracking, particles and fluid simulation, Boujou was used for the tracking and (RealFlow-Fumefx) for fluid simulation, assembled in 3ds max, rendered with mentalray and the particles with Krakatoa, coposited in Nukex. A brief making of can be found here

Sucker Punch:
I did this small vfx video after watching Sucker Punch (the movie), I used 3ds max with ray fire for the distruction and fumefx for the dust pass. Nukex was very help full with its magical tools for re timing and adding motion blur for the footage, the character(my friend Mazen) was shot in the same environment then rotoscoped I dont have a green sheet to shoot him on it. It was a very good experience working on it and I want to share the results with u guys. Regards.

Abstract Gate:
Its very exiting to take control over a 10000000 particles yes you count them right 10 million particles, that was done in 3ds max with the help of the newly created Krakatoa toy (PRT maker), it's really fun to play with this tool it gives you great possibilities to distribute particles and model them with the ability to save poses. Rendering with Krakatoa was really fast put in mind the depth of field, each frame took between (30s to 3m),the motion blur and glow was added later in Nuke. Hope you like it, Im working forward to make use of it in PF or TP to model a text for example in the final frame. . Regards.

Lava:
Lava is my first project using iray in animation, I used realflow for magma simulation and the scene was compiled in 3ds max. Its was not done for Nat Geo but I prototyped that, Im planning the making of soon. Regards.

Zombieeeee:
My first Zombie ,done using Nukex planner tracking to track the face. No 3D was involved just tracking and masking, you can find the making of Here.
Regards.

War at its end:
This is the first cut of a promo from a movie showing the war at its end from eyes of a soldier, the war between Iraq and Kuwait. As shown in the video I started by tracking the footage in Boujou bringing the scene to 3dsmax to add smoke(Fumefx) then to Nukex to add the other elements: fire ,destroyed vehicles and ground extension, the most difficult part was to make the smoke as believable as possible(wind movement and smoke behavior) and color correction to make every thing seems to live together. I hope that I managed to bring this shot to a higher level. Regards.
